4th and 5th Grade student completing 20% projects were hard at work and made significant progress this week. Henry and Adele have been studying chain reactions/Rube Goldberg machines. Last week they began to work on creating their own chain reaction. This week they added on the second piece of the model and with numerous modifications and trials, got the pieces to work as desired. Next week they will continue adding to their model. Eventually they will design and create their own Rube Goldberg machine. As inspiration this week we watched the video below from the band OK Go, who are known for making elaborate Rube Goldberg machines in their videos. WOW!!!

Aidan has been researching hydraulics and is using a kit to make his own structures that function with hydraulics. Today he completed his first mechanism, a lift.
3rd Grade students working on the Travel Agent PBL unit continued their calculations this week. Their projects had been on a bit of a hiatus as we prepared our extreme weather homes for showcase. They were excited to return to this work. We hope to complete calculations and presentations in the following weeks in order to present to clients!

Have a great rest of your week everyone! Let me know if you have any questions or items to discuss.
