District Spelling Bee

On Thursday, January 30th 28 Spellers competed in our annual WAWM District Spelling Bee. Two finalists from each elementary and intermediate school advance to this Bee. We had a great turn out. The auditorium was filled with family, friends, teachers, and administrators from around the District there to support our spellers. Superintendent, Dr. Lexmond, gave the welcome address and shared with spellers how they are gaining more than study and spelling skills but the ability to perform in stressful or high anxiety situations.

We had some talented spellers. We went through the entire Scripp's word list and had to utilize the additional words they provide. Our spellers just kept advancing! After about a 2.5 hour Bee we had our 2020 Champion and our 6 Finalists to advance to regionals!

The Regional Bee takes place on February 18, 2020 at CESA #1 in Pewaukee at 6:30. This Bee includes two vocabulary rounds in addition to the Spelling rounds. The winner of this Bee advances to the WI State Bee in Madison in March.
