On Tuesday 4th and 5th Graders in Team Enterprise finalized their Field Trip proposal presentations. On Wednesday they presented to an expert panel, Leslie Connors (Franklin School Principal), Deidre Roemer (WAWM Director of Leadership and Learning), Adam Hengel (WAWM Coordinator of Instructional Services), and Kristen Matz (PTA president). Our time on Tuesday was valuable as groups were able to finalize presentations, present to their peers, receive feedback, and make revisions. Getting constructive feedback can be difficult and we will be working on this on this throughout our new projects.
All groups collaborated to create a field trip proposal they felt would benefit their class. Groups were evaluated using a rubric that scored their presentation, student interaction, educational impact, community value, and cost effectiveness.
Congrats to our Discovery World planners, we'll be heading there in May!
Team Pursuit Skyping for Stories
I love every chance I get to work with Team Pursuit. These K/1 students are experiencing real world and skill based learning on a daily basis. As they move on with their PBL podcast unit "Stories from 86th Street" they had the opportunity to receive advice and feedback from an expert. Peter Raymundo is a published author, illustrator, and former Disney animator! We loved hearing about his inspiration process, story elements, and illustrations. I can't wait to see Team Pursuits narratives develop as they create their podcast.
