Irving 1/22

4/5 Students are exploring STEM and engineering design standards during our Irving Innovation Station unit on simple machines. Learners are building simple machines with PLTW Kits. Mr. Thompson showed groups how a lever works in terms of fulcrum and load spacing. They had a blast seeing these forces at work with just a found shelf and erasers!

Some groups were ready to move on to building pulley models this week. Next week they will explore compound machines and design their own.
