Jeremy is measuring the circumference and diameter of a variety of circles to see if he will get Pi (3.14) when dividing the circumference by the diameter. He came pretty close, within .04cm for one! The 3rd grade math group did a similar activity but rather than completing the division they cut yarn in the length of the circumference and then saw how many diameter lengths would fit within that. They found each time that it was 3 then a very small piece that would represent the .14 of Pi. Students also created Pi pictures. They listed as many digits as they could fit on the x axis of their graph paper. They then created a bar graph for the digits in pie. Students then created a picture to represent those numbers!
