Team Odyssey is currently participating in the PBL unit, "Extreme Weather Designers" where they will act as architects. Their task is to design a home with features that can combat the threat of an extreme weather event. Collaborative groups will study a U.S. region and the weather that is common to that region. They will also be tracking monthly averages for a city within their region. During art class groups will be building models of their home designs. These will be displayed at our Franklin School Showcase on February 28th.
Today Adam Voltz, an architect with TKWA (The Kubala Washatko Architects, Inc) visited to discuss with students that work that he does. He discussed his education, past and current projects, his process, and how the environment and weather impacts design. He also answered students' questions.
Below are some photos from the presentation as well as some of the slides Mr. Voltz shared with the students.
