Mason is preparing for his series of lessons to teach about technology. He wanted to foster discussions with his peers about what technology is, sharing that it is not just electronics. He created lesson plans, located engaging informative videos, and planned activities for students to engage in. Here he cutting out the laminated diagrams he created. Students will be showing their learning by labeling the diagrams at the end of the lesson.
4th and 5th Graders are working through the final steps of their 20% Projects. They are preparing for the 20% Fair taking place on April 25th at FLW. Please look for a letter with details and and RSVP slip coming home next Monday.
Audrey is working diligently on her display. Today she added an image that shows how the human body reacts to emotion in terms of temperature. She is elaborating on why parts of the body are cool and hot in certain situations.
Henry is creating a structure he can attach to his tri-fold to display his crystals. After many attempts and trying different crystal "recipes", this week Henry's experiments were successful.
Marissa and Venecia are working on their tri-fold explaining the need to be conscious of preserving our planet. They read a variety of articles, took notes, then organized their learning into topics to share.
Alex and John continue work on their Pokemon Math game, Pokemath. They completed about 70 challenging math question cards and created answer keys as well. Today Alex continues the board game design modeled after a Pokemon region. John is starting their display for the 20% Fair where they will included steps form their project, artifacts, and game information.
Charlie completed his research, typed up his notes and organized information, created a 3-D visual model using TinkerCad, and completed his tri-fold board. Today he put the finishing touches on a rocket model inspired by one created by Elon Musk. He and his group members have also been focusing on 6th and 7th grade algebraic skills during our shared lessons.

Today Serpahina and Jason practiced presenting their Little Red Riding Hood set project one last time. They then made the rounds and presented to 3 classes. They discussed the project process, how they used text evidence to design their sets, and why they included certain details. They gave students a chance to see the sets up close then took questions. They did a great job presenting and were clear and concise in their descriptions.
Aidan and Joey facilitated their Kahoot clubs at recess. Both have created a series of Kahoot (electronic math quiz games). They created the game and identified the correct answers. Students who joined the club get to have fun while practicing some at and above grade level math skills.
